Sauerbraten Meat Loaf

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup pumpernickel breadcrumbs (1 slice)
  • 1/2 cup ground gingersnap cookie (about 10)
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • glaze
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat oven to 375.
  • 2 in a large bowl combine all ingredients for the meatloaf mixture. mix well with a wooden spoon or (my preference) hands spoon mixture into a 8" square pan or 9"x5" loaf pan. combine the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl mixing well to combine. spoon glaze over top of loaf.
