Lamb And Sauerkraut - Crock Pot Style

Total Time: 5 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 5 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or 1/2 oil and 1/2 butter)
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 (5 1/2 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (10 ounce) can low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 1/2 lbs lamb butt, cut into bite size cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Recipe

  • 1 saute onion and garlic in the 2 tbsp of olive oil til soft
  • 2 add sauerkraut, tomato paste, sugar and chicken broth.
  • 3 mix together and put in crock pot.
  • 4 saute lamb cubes, in batches, in olive oil til browned.
  • 5 add to crock pot and stir together.
  • 6 cook on high for approx, 5 hours.
  • 7 serve over boiled potatoes or noodles.
