Simple Garlic Mushroom Pasta

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 300 g whole wheat pasta
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 140 g diced bacon
  • 300 g mushrooms, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 2 -3 garlic cloves, minced
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 250 ml cream
  • shredded parmesan cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
  • 2 while the pasta is cooking, fry the bacon - when it starts rendering fat, add the onion, and fry gently.
  • 3 add the mushrooms, minced garlic, salt and freshly ground black pepperto taste.
  • 4 add the cream, bring to just a boil and let simmer until the pasta is done.
  • 5 drain the pasta, (reserving some of the water) and pour the sauce over the pasta and toss together.
  • 6 add a little bit of water if you need to loosen it up.
  • 7 add the parmesan.
  • 8 serve and enjoy.
