Lamb Pie With Chili Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh ground ground lamb
- 2 ounces favourite brandy
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 scallions, diced
- 1 boiled drained and diced into cubes potato
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ground sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 sweet red peppers or 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 5 canned tomatoes, with some juice
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
Recipe
- 1 sauce: add all the ingredients listed for sauce into a pot, and simmer over med.
- 2 to low heat for 2 hours.
- 3 serve this with the pie on the side.
- 4 filling for lamb pie; place the lamb and brandy into a bowl and marinate for two hours.
- 5 saute the garlic in oil with the gren onions.
- 6 add the marinated lamb and start to brown.
- 7 drain as much fat as possible off.
- 8 add the seasonings and cook for ten minutes.
- 9 add the small cubes of boiled potato and mix well.
- 10 pour into a favourite uncooked pie shell, top with a top crust.
- 11 brush with egg beaten with 1 tsp.
- 12 water.
- 13 bake 425 degrees for 5 minutes.
- 14 reduce oven to 350 degrees, bake 30 minutes.
- 15 note-- i have mashed the potato instead in my recipe, so it would not be as noticeable.
- 16 this potato in the recipe acts as the thickener.
