Pan-grilled Sausages With Apples And Onions

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 fully cooked sausages (your choice, 13 ounces total)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium tart apple, such as granny smith,peeled,cored,sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider or 1 cup apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 melt 1 tablespoon butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  • 2 add sausages and cook until beginning to brown, turning occasionally, about 5 minutes.
  • 3 add onion and apple to sausages in pan; cook until onion and apple are tender and brown, stirring often, about 5 minutes.
  • 4 add apple cider or juice and chopped sage; increase heat to high and stir until liquid is slightly reduced, about 2 minutes.
  • 5 stir in lemon juice and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • 6 using slotted spoon, transfer apple and onion to 2 plates, dividing equally.
  • 7 top with sausages.
  • 8 whisk remaining 2 tablespoons butter into cider mixture.
  • 9 season sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
  • 10 drizzle over sausages and serve.
