- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

- in a sauce pan, combine vinegar, ketchup, water and sugar. season with salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes. bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved.
