Sausages With Broccoli

Ingredients

- 1 3/4 lbs italian sausage
- 1 1/4 lbs broccoli florets
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 shallots
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/4 dried red chili, chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 6 black olives, pitted
Recipe
- 1 prick sausages, place in a single layer in a large frying pan, add cold water to 1/2 inch. bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes, turning from time to time. if the water evaporates too rapidly, add a bit more.
- 2 meanwhile, boil the broccoli in salted water for 4-5 minutes. drain and set aside.
- 3 pour off the fat from the skillet and wipe it out with a paper towel. add the oil and brown the sausages briefly. push them to one side and add the shallots, garlic and chile (or chile flakes). cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 4 add broth and lemon juice. cook gently until reduced by half. add broccoli and olives. gently mix until heated through.
- 5 serve and enjoy.
