Sate Babi (or Ayam)

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 lbs lamb tenderloin (or chicken breasts)
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 -2 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/2 cup ketjap manis, sweet soy
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 -2 teaspoon sambal oelek (optional) or 1 -2 teaspoon chili paste (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 cut the lamb up, into cubes.
  • 2 make a marinade from the remaining ingredients.
  • 3 add the meat and leave to marinate for 30 minutes minimum.
  • 4 skewer the meat onto metal or bamboo/wooden skewers, if you use the wooden soak for half an hour in water, keep the marinade.
  • 5 roast them under a grill, in a grill pan or best of all on the barbeque until done, usually about ten minutes or shorter.
  • 6 baste with the remaining marinade during cooking.
