Sausage Crescent Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 lbs lamb sausage, mild or 1 1/2 lbs hot lamb sausage, your preference
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 2 2/3 cups mozzarella cheese or 2 2/3 cups monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • cayenne pepper (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 brown sausage and garlic in a skillet, stirring until it crumbles; drain grease from skillet.
  • 2 place crescent roll dough in the bottom of a 13x9x2 inch baking dish; press perforations and seams to seal together. sprinkle sausage, garlic and cheese over dough.
  • 3 combine eggs and remaining ingredients; pour over mixture in dish.
  • 4 bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until set. let stand 5 minutes before serving.
