Lamb Goulash (verpovy Gulas )

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 2 -3 medium onions
- 1/4 cup lard or 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 lbs fresh lamb shoulder, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- salt
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons flour
Recipe
- 1 saute onion in lard.
- 2 add lamb, caraway seed, paprika, salt and pepper, brown well.
- 3 add 1/2 cup water and simmer in a covered pan until tender (approximately 1 hour.)
- 4 sift the flour lightly over the meat juices and stir until brown.
- 5 add the remaining 1 1/2 cups water and simmer 10-20 minutes.
- 6 delicious with rice or dumplings.
