Pasta With Bacon, Onions And Cheddar Cheese

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 6 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) package fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 lb sliced bacon
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 place onions, oil and butter in 3 quart casserole. microwave uncovered on medium-high 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 2 drain onions.
  • 3 meanwhile, cook and drain fettuccine as directed on package.
  • 4 cook bacon in 10 inch skillet over low heat, turning occasionally, until crisp.
  • 5 drain on paper towels.
  • 6 chop bacon into small pieces.
  • 7 heat whipping cream to boiling in 2 quart saucepan.
  • 8 mix in 1 cup of the cheese and onions.
  • 9 pour over fettuccine.
  • 10 toss to coat.
  • 11 top with remaining 1 cup cheese.
  • 12 sprinkle with bacon.
