Lamb Stew (irish Strudels)

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 large boneless lamb chops, cubed
  • 3 large potatoes, cubed
  • 6 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • basil
  • water, to cover
  • 4 -5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in large pot.
  • 2 saute garlic, onion & potatos for 5 minutes.
  • 3 add lamb and brown.
  • 4 transfer ingredients into large roaster & add mushrooms, frozen peas,spices and enough water to cover about two inches from top. cover.
  • 5 place in a 350 degree oven and cook for 1 hour.
  • 6 prepare strudels.
  • 7 beat eggs & salt together in large bowl.
  • 8 slowly add enough flour until dough comes away from the sides of bowl but is still slightly sticky.
  • 9 knead dough on a flour board for 3 minutes.
  • 10 roll dough out until about an inch thick.
  • 11 grease dough with butter.
  • 12 cut dough into two inch strips and roll into noodles.
  • 13 15 minutes before serving place studels into stew making sure they are covered by liquid in stew. cover.
  • 14 when done remove noodles onto a plate.
  • 15 serve stew and enjoy both.
  • 16 if stew is still too thin a rue of butter and flour can be added to thicken it.
