Lamb Loin Roast With Hoisin-sesame Sauce

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 1/2 lbs lamb loin roast
  • olive oil, as needed
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 salt and pepper roast liberally and brown in a saute pan with olive oil on all sides.
  • 2 place into a roasting pan and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes (until internal temp is about 140).
  • 3 remove and cover with foil and let stand for about 10 minutes before carving.
  • 4 meanwhile, drain most of the oil from the saute pan and retain any brown bits.
  • 5 saute ginger until fragrant, then add remaining sauce ingredients (except green onions). simmer until thickened, then add green onions.
  • 6 cut lamb into slices and top with sauce and additional green onion slices for garnish. serve immediately.
