Pass The Puck Lamb Chili

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (796 ml) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (540 ml) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan, heat oil. add lamb, onion, garlic, and peppers.
  • 2 cook over medium heat until lamb is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. stir frequently breaking up lamb. add tomatoes and seasonings.
  • 3 simmer gently uncovered for about 1 hour. add a little water if mixture becomes too dry.
  • 4 add beans and simmer for 10 minutes longer. serve with a dollop of sour cream or sprinkle with monterey jack cheese and broil just before serving.
