Satay

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 lbs lamb
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce (mr. yoshida's gourmet sauce)
  • 3 large garlic cloves, finely mashed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 lemon, juice of
  • 3 -4 teaspoons smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (mr. yoshida's gourmet sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice (i use the other half of the lemon's juice)
  • 1 pinch fried shallot

Recipe

  • 1 slice meat into 1 inch squares, set aside.
  • 2 marinade:
  • 3 in large bowl, mix soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. add meat, and knead marinade into the meat. cover and let stand at room temperature for a minimum of one hour. refrigerate if marinating longer.
  • 4 place meat pieces on skewers, barbecue until meat is cooked. they are thin pieces of meat so it shouldn’t take too long. remember to turn frequently.
  • 5 serve over bed of rice with peanut sauce.
  • 6 peanut sauce:.
  • 7 in saucepan, melt peanut butter and butter while stirring over low heat. after peanut butter is melted, add soy sauce and lemon juice, a little at a time to obtain the desired taste. after mixture is peanutty yet tart, you can add some salt and pepper to enhance the taste. add the shallots.
