Lamb Chops A L'orange

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 lamb loin chops (approx. 1 lb)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 4 cloves
  • 4 thin orange slices
  • 2 cups cold water

Recipe

  • 1 trim excess fat from chops.
  • 2 combine flour, seasoning salt, curry, paprika, salt and pepper.
  • 3 save 1 t of this mixture [and set aside for later].
  • 4 coat chops evenly in remaining flour mixture.
  • 5 brown chops in vegetable oil in fry pan.
  • 6 add orange juice and cloves.
  • 7 simmer covered 45 minutes or until tender, turning chops and orange slices to serving platter.
  • 8 blend reserved flour into 2 t cold water.
  • 9 pour slowly into frying pan, stirring constantly.
  • 10 cook and stir until smoothly thickened.
  • 11 spoon sauce over chops.
