Lamb Chops And Applesauce Gravy

Ingredients

- 8 medium lamb loin chops
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon oil, for browning
Recipe
- 1 heat oil in skillet and brown chops at least 2 minutes per side.
- 2 you want a brown crust to form on the meat.
- 3 layer chops in a casserole dish, they can overlap.
- 4 now, add the flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt to the remaining fat in the pan.
- 5 stir to mix well.
- 6 add the boiling water and blend thoroughly.
- 7 cook 3 to 5 minutes until it thickens.
- 8 add applesauce and lemon juice, mix well and pour this entire mixture over the chops in the casserole.
- 9 bake 1 1/2 hrs at 400 degrees.
- 10 check for doneness, depending on the size of the chops you may need to cook an additional 15 minutes.
