Lamb Chops Vermont

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup wine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 (6 ounce) lamb chops

Recipe

  • 1 combine ketchup, maple syrup, wine, water, beef bouillon, bay leaf, garlic, basil, thyme, mustard, salt, pepper and ginger in a medium saucepan.
  • 2 stir well.
  • 3 bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • 4 remove bay leaf.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 meanwhile preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 7 lightly brush oil onto both sides of lamb chops.
  • 8 place lamb chops into 13x9x2-inch baking dish.
  • 9 bake for 30 minutes.
  • 10 remove from oven, pour sauce over lamb.
  • 11 bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes more, basting a few times with sauce.
