Slow Cooker Savory Cranberry Lamb Butt Roast

Total Time: 8 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (i use wesson best blend)
  • 4 lbs lamb butt (with bone)
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup orange marmalade or 1 cup apple jelly
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken soup base or 4 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • 2 quickly sear each side of the roast in the hot oil, about 1 minute each side.
  • 3 place the roast in your slow cooker, fat side up.
  • 4 if using bouillon, crush the cubes.
  • 5 combine the cranberry sauce, orange marmalade, mustard, soup base/bouillon, horseradish, garlic powder, and thyme.
  • 6 spoon the sauce over the lamb roast.
  • 7 cover and cook on low 8 -10 hours.
